Final Stretch: Discover the Dates That Will Close Out the 2026 ALAS Global Tour

Puerto Rico and Peru will host the final stretch of the tour, with competitions in Arecibo, Punta Rocas, and Playa Señoritas. The El Salvador event remains tentative and will be decided in the coming hours.

The ALAS Global Tour is entering the final stage of its 2026 season with three important competitions that will bring together some of the region’s best surfers in Puerto Rico and Peru throughout October, November, and December.

The possible staging or cancellation of the 2026 ALAS Global Tour El Salvador will also be decided in the coming hours. It remains a tentative event scheduled for October 27–31. At the same time, the tentative Mexico event has been cancelled—a beautiful country we hope to return to during the 2027 season.

    First stop: Puerto Rico

The next stop will be the 2026 ALAS Global Tour Puerto Rico, taking place from October 9–12 at Playa La Marginal in Arecibo, Puerto Rico. The championship will be a 4-star event, making it a key date in determining the season standings and the race for ranking points.

Registration for the 2026 ALAS Global Tour Puerto Rico is now open through the tour’s official website.

    The finale moves to Peru

After Puerto Rico, the action will continue in Lima with the final two competitions of the season, both part of the Surf Fest Pro League by Sofía Mulanovich.

The second stop of the Surf Fest Pro League will take place from November 19–22 at Punta Rocas, Peru—one of the country’s most iconic surf breaks and the venue for major international competitions. The event will hold a 2-star rating.

Finally, the 2026 season will conclude from December 3–6 at Playa Señoritas, Peru, with the third stop of the Surf Fest Pro League by Sofía Mulanovich, also a 2-star event.

Puerto Rico and Peru will therefore take center stage in an intense final stretch that will determine the season champions and bring another year of international ALAS Global Tour competition to a close. These events will also be key in determining who earns ALAS qualification spots for the Lima 2027 Pan American Games, a qualifier for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

The competition calendar will still feature one additional event before the end of the year. On December 27–28, the Dominican Republic will host a new Junior-category event, which will count toward the 2027 ALAS Global Tour season.

The championship will mark the early start of the tour’s new cycle and will continue to promote the development of the next generation of Latin American surfers. More news about this competition will be announced soon.

As incredible as it may seem, three years had to pass before Bryan Pérez won another ALAS Global Tour event. And he did it the way he knows best: with authority and without leaving any doubt. “The Pink Panther” surfed with the power seen on his best freesurfing days, ending a difficult streak that included early eliminations at the Central American Games and in his first heat at the previous ALAS event in Panama.

“I thought about not traveling because I didn’t feel comfortable with my surfing, but I spoke with my psychologist and he advised me to come and have fun, as I do every day. I’m grateful to him for looking out for me and giving me the best support. I enjoyed it to the fullest—I have many friends here, I like the food, the waves… I feel at home,” Pérez said.

The Salvadoran surfer spoke about how tough this sport can be and how, on days like this, he is reminded that God’s plans are perfect. This is not just another victory for Bryan: he won his first ALAS event in Jacó, and today Costa Rica’s powerful beach break has restored his confidence in his surfing.

A tight battle for the Women’s Open lead

Victoria Muñoz Larreta won her second ALAS event of the year—following her victory in Arica, Chile, in February—and moved very close to tour leader Dominic Barona.

Vicky’s title was especially valuable because of how hard she had to fight for it. On a day with physically demanding conditions, the Argentine surfer competed in four heats and, in the Open final, found strength when there was none left.

“I’m extremely tired after a whole day with many heats, but I’m very happy. The points count a lot toward the rankings. Now I have to keep training hard and try to compete in as many events as possible,” Muñoz Larreta said.

With the 4,000 points she earns, she reaches 10,720 and is now right behind Ecuador’s Dominic Barona, who remains in first place with 11,790 points.

    Double champion

Brianna Barthelmess captured both the Under-16 and Under-18 titles, becoming the day’s most successful competitor. The Peruvian also won the first Under-18 event of the tour in Uruguay. With 9,720 points, she moves firmly into the battle for the top of the rankings.

Kalany Camarena’s victory in the Under-14 division also stood out. The Panamanian maintained the momentum that earned him a title at home in Santa Catalina just two weeks ago, dominating a challenging final against Peru’s Facundo Castañeda, Chile’s Romano Menichetti, and Costa Rica’s Kian Jiron.
